Program & Project Manager to Coop Tradings PMO department

Do you thrive on turning strategy into execution and creating results across complex organizations? Are you motivated by leading high-impact initiatives, bringing structure to complexity, and driving real change across markets and functions? Then this could be your opportunity to make a visible difference in a Nordic organization with strong ambitions.
We are looking for an experienced Program & Project Manager to lead strategic, operational, and cross-functional initiatives across our Nordic organization. In this role, you will help shape how we execute priorities, strengthen governance, and ensure that key business initiatives are translated into measurable results.

Your Role:
As our Program & Project Manager, you will report to the Head of PMO and be responsible for leading and delivering strategic and operational programs and projects across the organization, working closely with Coop’s national organizations in Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark.

You will ensure strong project governance, effective prioritization, and successful execution while supporting the development of PMO standards, methodologies, and best practices. You will also run daily operational projects to ensure timely planning and execution.

You will work closely with our Process & Project Manager, our Project Managers and PMO Analyst.

Key responsibilities:
The role includes a broad range of responsibilities, including:
•    Lead complex, cross-Nordic projects/programs with high business impact
•    Own end-to-end project lifecycle (business case → execution → value realization)
•    Define and drive PMO governance, standards, and best practices
•    Prioritize, gatekeep, plan and manage operational projects based on business value, risk, and capacity throughout the process
•    Drive continuous improvement of project processes, tools, and data quality
•    Facilitate steering councils and support executive decision-making
•    Manage risks proactively and ensure successful project outcomes
•    Act as trusted advisor to senior stakeholders

To succeed in the role, we imagine that you:
•    Have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with strong presentation capabilities
•    Are a proactive and results-driven project professional who enjoys working across functions, cultures, and organizational levels
•    Are a certified Program & Project Manager (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent)
•    Have at least 5 years of experience managing programs and projects
•    Have a strong understanding of project governance, PMO frameworks, and organizational processes
•    Have experience working with business cases, financials, and value tracking
•    Have knowledge of Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies
•    Are fluent in English, both written and spoken – knowledge of Swedish, Norwegian, and Danish is an asset

Personal competencies:
You are a strategic thinker who understands how projects contribute to business success. You enjoy solving complex challenges and can balance long-term objectives with operational execution.
In addition, you:
•    Have strong analytical capabilities and a structured approach
•    Excel at stakeholder management and influencing without formal authority
•    Are highly organized and results-oriented
•    Have strong prioritization skills and the ability to manage competing demands
•    Build collaborative relationships across functions and countries
•    Take initiative and challenge existing ways of working to drive improvements
•    Thrive in dynamic environments where change and continuous improvement are part of everyday business

What we offer:
•    A high-impact role with the opportunity to drive business-critical projects and programs across the Nordics
•    A central position in a growing PMO where you can help shape standards, ways of working, and execution discipline
•    Close collaboration with internal and external senior stakeholders and broad exposure across markets, functions, and strategic priorities
•    Opportunities for both professional growth and personal development in an ambitious and collaborative environment
•    The chance to be part of a purpose-driven company that is shaping the future of Nordic private brands for millions of consumers
