We are currently looking for a Product Quality Specialist to manage and develop our wide range of products within Coop Trading’s Nordic Private Brands portfolio (range: FMCG).
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our products are competitive, consumer-relevant, and meet Coop’s high standards for quality, safety, sustainability, and compliance. You will play a key role in developing products from idea to launch and act as the final quality gatekeeper before products enter the market.
Key responsibilities
Your responsibilities are broad, hands-on and include:
• Develop attractive and competitive products for the Nordic Private Brand market in close collaboration with suppliers and procurement
• Develop category strategies in collaboration with procurement.
• Portofolio management with high Quality focus
• Ensure that products comply with legislation, Coop requirements and third-party certification criteria
• Define and maintain product descriptions and ensure alignment with category and brand strategy
• Ensure a consumer-centric approach, using market insights and consumer feedback actively in product development
• Responsible for product testing, evaluation and approval
• Qualify and onboard new suppliers to meet Coop quality requirements
• Act as a key technical sparring partner internally and in relation to our Nordic partners, with a focus on quality parameters
• Handle consumer inquiries and quality-related issues within your categories
About you
We do not expect you to be an expert in all categories from day one, but it is important that you are curious and motivated to build deep technical knowledge over time.
We imagine that you:
• Have a relevant technical educational background (e.g. food science, chemistry, engineering or similar)
• Have experience working with product development
• Are comfortable leading projects and collaborating with multiple stakeholders
• Communicate clearly and effectively in English (written and spoken)
• Are structured, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize tasks
