Within Coop Technology, we have over the past five years modernized and upgraded large parts of our IT landscape to create a stable, secure, and future-proof platform. Most notably, we have completed one of the world’s largest and most ambitious SAP retail implementations: “Coop One” on SAP S/4 HANA.
Your New Team
In the role as Manager Network & Security, you will become part of Coop Technology’s Infrastructure Manager team, consisting of four managers who work closely together to run and develop the infrastructure area.
The infrastructure department comprises more than 50 employees and is responsible for operating infrastructure supporting our 900 stores across Denmark. As part of this setup, you will have people management responsibility for a group of highly skilled employees within Network & Cybersecurity.
Your team is well-established and self-driven, with a strong mix of senior and highly experienced technical specialists as well as an apprentice. The team brings deep expertise—particularly within network and cybersecurity—and operates with a high degree of independence and professionalism.
Together, you ensure the stability, security, and continuous operation of our critical infrastructure, supported 24/7, including essential on-call rotations. You will collaborate closely with trusted service partners and work with leading technologies from vendors such as Microsoft, Cisco, Checkpoint, and Trend Micro, giving you both strategic influence and hands-on impact in a business-critical area.
You will report directly to the Head of Infrastructure Operations.
About the Role
As Manager of Network and Security, you are responsible for leading Coop’s network infrastructure and security operations, ensuring robust connectivity, data protection, and compliance across the organization.
Beyond daily operations, the role carries strong ambitions for change and transformation. You will help drive improvements across both technology and processes, shaping how network and security services evolve to better support the business.
You will lead a team of 10 internal specialists and manage the external Security Operations Center (SOC) partnership, safeguarding critical infrastructure and ensuring effective incident response. The role is part of the Infrastructure Operations Management Team and combines strategic responsibility with hands-on operational leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
o Lead and develop a team of network and security professionals.
o Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and security awareness.
Network Infrastructure
o Oversee design, implementation, and maintenance of Coop’s LAN, WAN, and cloud networking.
o Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of network services.
Security Operations
o Manage external SOC provider and ensure effective incident detection and response.
o Implement and maintain security policies, standards, and controls aligned with Coop’s security policies.
Risk & Compliance
o Conduct regular risk and vulnerability management assessments.
o Ensure compliance with GDPR, Coop’s information security policies, and relevant regulations.
Strategic Planning
o Develop network and security roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
o Drive initiatives for modernization, automation, and cloud integration.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
o Manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers.
o Collaborate with IT leadership, product teams, and business units on security requirements.
Who are you?
You bring a strong background from large-scale enterprise environments and are comfortable working with hybrid cloud setups and modern security principles such as Zero Trust. You know how to translate security governance and risk management into practical, operational solutions while balancing business needs with strong security.
You thrive in a role with many stakeholders and communicate confidently across all levels of the organization. Coop is an international environment, and you will collaborate with colleagues, consultants, and suppliers who work in both Danish and English.
We would like you to cover many of the following qualifications:
• Several years in IT infrastructure and security roles, large-scale enterprise environments
• Some years in leadership or managerial positions
• Proven experience managing SOC services and incident response
• Strong background in network architecture (Cisco, MS Azure, SD-WAN) and security technologies (Firewalls, SIEM, EDR)
• Preferred Certifications: CISSP, CISM, CCNP, or equivalent
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field
• Full proficiency in Danish and English (company language is Danish)
